With the combined income of myself, my sister and my room mate we are just over the limit where we could get help from a government resource. We are all disabled middle age adults on limited ssd incomes and are struggling to survive. My room mate has end stage emphysema from damage to his lungs while working 11 years in a silicon factory. My sister has scoliosis of the lower spine and I broke my back in a fall in 2000 so we are all pretty much stuck in the apartment unless we have to get food or do laundry or go to the doctor. I use a c-pap machine for sleep apnea. Almost my entire check goes to pay the rent. My roomate and sister share in paying utilities and getting food and other necessities each month and we cannot afford clothing or any kind of outside interests or "luxuries". We do not have cable television and just got a phone through life line and are worried about paying for that, even. We do not go out to eat or to movies and get movies for free at the local library. We do not have a vehicle and must depend on a taxi to go to do laundry which we can only do once a month due to lack of money after we pay for the roof over our heads. We cannot afford to move. Our water bill is 197.00 because our land lord was not able to fix a bad leak in our bathtub faucets, we had a friend come to replace washers and now we have to shut it off very tight so it does not leak anymore but lots of money went down the drain after the land lord fixed it twice, so our water bill which usually runs around 110.00 every 2 months is almost double this time. Is there anyone out there to help us just one time so we can get caught up on the bills??? We have difficulty traveling due to physical problems and really need help now.
