REFUGE NEWSLETTER
Hello Friends, Supporters and the Curious,
I am writing you today about some specific needs with our ministry. We are very much in need of financial help at this point. We have had so many requests for assistance from those in need. Currently, because of the need, we have prayerfully opened up our Recovery program, Brotherhood ministries(formerly known as Lionheart Recovery), to homeless men and women, and in one case a single mother with 2 small children, and not just recovering addicts. We have taken in 10 additional people, who are homeless, and a single mom with 2 children. We have done this without any funds available in our program. So, we need your help. We need $500 to put power and water on in one house for the single mom. And, we need to raise about $1500 to subsidize the 10 homeless people we have taken in, until we can find them jobs or other assistance. In addition to this we need to raise about $2000 for current expenses. We also are looking at about 50 families we are trying to get Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for, and are short on funds for this. We need about $3000 for the holiday season for this. We are also needing blankets, warm clothes, socks, and undergarments for the homeless we serve on the streets. We are looking for bunk beds for our houses, as well. Please help us in any way that you can we are expecting a very difficult holiday season.
And, lastly, we are in need of non-perishable food items for the people we serve. If you can help with any of this, or have any questions, please call me at 727 278 1547. If you wish to send checks, you can send to them to The Refuge, 1818 29th Ave. North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33713. Our website is www.refugestpete.org.
Thanks so much, Bruce
